Anyone else hate the?

For me things being elegant or cly has nothing to do with money. Someone can be rich and be into flashing their wealth around with sparkly and gaudy things (tacky), while someone can have nothing financially yet be conservative and tasteful in the things they like (not tacky). It has nothing to do with money. To me it's more about not being flashy or as they would say now: "bling-bling"-y. I just think conservative things (not more expensive things or less expensive things) are nicer but everyone is entitled to their opinion and to express it. If people don't like that word so much then at the risk of sounding "tacky" I suggest you specify for people to give their answers without using the word "tacky".
