Why are some of the motorcycles so cheap?

im looking at some bikes online and some are super cheap around 1,500. Such as the yamaha vstar, kawasaki vulcan, suzuki boulevard, etc. Im wanting to buy a bike for a cross country trip and casual day to day driving. These bikes seems to be perfect for my financial situation and reliability to make the trip and then some. however its making me question why these bikes are so cheap for a pretty moderate cc range. What are your thoughts on some of these japenese made bikes?
