Is this a lot like explaining DNA to the O.J. Simpson jury?
I think a better parallel is how gullible the OJ jurors were and this matches the gullibilty of alarmists to a tee. OJ put a pair of tight latex gloves on that didn't fit his hands. He then put the pair of gloves on that he was wearing when he murdered his wife but of course they didn't fit. The expert witnesses paid for by OJ's team easily fooled the jurors. The jurors were easily fooled because they wanted to believe he was innocent. Instead of looking at the evidence objectively, they saw what they wanted to see. Bacheous thinks he is capable of digesting a complex set of data that a super computer couldn't digest even if all the variables were known which they obviously aren't. Talk about gullible. He would have been the jury foreman.
